The cemetery, which dates back to colonial days, has recently identified new areas within its 13+ acres where burial lots may be purchased.



 

October 5, 2019 Tour with Kevin Duffy

The tour was be led by stone conservator Kevin Duffy. Duffy restores and conserves headstones throughout eastern Massachusetts and has been safeguarding Hingham Cemetery monuments for over 15 years. In addition to being a stone conservator, he is also a stone sculptor.

Two town-owned monuments (the Settlers’ Monument seen on the town seal, and the Civil War obelisk) are located in the Hingham Cemetery.

The Hingham Cemetery Corporation is managed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors supported in large part through contributions to Friends of Hingham Cemetery, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. It receives no funding from the town of Hingham or any other municipality. Your fully tax-deductible gift will go completely to upkeep and restoration.
