In unprecedented political times with such incredible division, who do you count on to provide perspective? Poets. The country has hit a major political divide, with no end of rancor, fear, anger. It’s hard to find a voice that can help us all take a breath, reflect. We tend to look for political pundits to guide us and help us take our own. temperature, but throughout human history, it has been the poets who have brought thoughtful contemplation.
Have some wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres and listen to four acclaimed poets read from their work and discuss how the current political climate affects their creative lives. Continuing in a long tradition of poets who respond to the larger issues of their times, these writers will present an engaging and thought-provoking program at the Ames Chapel at 7 PM. Door opens at 6:30pm.
